In 2022, two Spelman College alumnae sought out to transform the college paraphernalia space by working alongside their “legacies” who were also graduates of their alma mater. The four women, Joslyn Jackson, Rhonda Waller, Kai Waller and Lauren Jackson, landed on a luxury accessories brand where they could tie in their school pride, various networks, and love for fashion. They named it: TruBlu Legacy.
TruBlu Legacy is an online retailer that specializes in handbags, scarves, and ties that honor the traditions of Historically Black Colleges and Universities through esoteric details. The brand currently features offerings for Spelman College, Morehouse College, Howard University and Tuskegee University with new launches rolling out for Clark Atlanta University, Florida A&M University, North Carolina A&T State University, and Tennessee State University.
As TruBlu Legacy continues to grow, the goal is to find their esoteric offerings everywhere from bookstores to homecoming events. Each day the brand gets one step closer to its vision of connecting alumni, current students, aspiring students, and friends of Historically Black Colleges and Universities through products that evoke distinction and pride.
